Dale McGaha: Looking Back- Thinking Forward

by Dale McGaha

There just aren’t enough good words to emphasize the value and importance of our local health care facilities in Blackwell. I have recently been a rehab patient in both the Blackwell Hospital and the Hillcrest Manor nursing home. I would like to emphasize how valuable these two institutions are to our region. Their value is priceless to the economic and welfare of all our communities. It is vital that we work together in unity tuned to the betterment of all concerned. Unity builds hope for the future.

In just the last few years some communities have lost their hospitals. It is vital that everyone does everything in their power to support our local medical facilities. All medical facilities are very valuable to the progress and stability of our good city. It seems that sometimes we take some things for granted. “We don’t miss the water until the well runs dry!” We must not take for granted our vital medical and special car firms in our city. The extra good compassionate care that I received is very worthy of sincere praise!

It is hoped that this series of special columns in the B.J.T. will help alert others to the great value of each organization. We must help preserve them for future generations. I will be centering on the many different services we all now enjoy. I want to emphasize the old “Proverb 29-18), “Where there is no vision, the people will perish.” With God’s help, and a spirit of unity from all segments of our society, we can make our community even better! We must! Sometimes change is hard to do, but then some change turns out to be good for us. This could apply to all kinds of situation.

I want to give a special credit to all the dedicated employees of Hillcrest Manor’s physical therapy. They are indeed some of the best, working overtime to help patients get to better health. To then and all other staff members, “Job Well Done!”

THIS BEGINS A SPECIAL SERIES OF SPECIAL ARTICLES TO BOOST AWARENESS OF THE MANY FINE ASPECTS OF LIFE IN BLACKWELL. FUTURE ARTICLES WILL INCLUDE CULTURAL, BUSINESS AND CIVIC ORGINAZITIONS.
