Huge success: inside the Blackwell Youth Center's weekend festival

Blackwell Youth Center held a silent auction and festival this past Saturday, July 20, a first of it's kind event which had nearly 70 items donated by a wide range of local business all to raise a total of $3,692 that will be going directly into the youth center's community outreach programs, which benefit in-need children in the Blackwell area.

The donors included, Furrever Friends Grooming, Prairie Smoke BBQ, Big Time BBQ, Blackwell Dentistry, Los Potros, Nellie Jack, The Blackwell Best Western Inn, Jill Buesing, Tonkawa Hotel & Casino, Lindie's Spray Tan, Sonic Drive-In, Hutton Pharmacy, Blackwell Family Chiropractic, Andrea Cassady from Frames of Love, Barn Quilts by “It's A Girl Thing” from Cindy Oard, Ashley Heitschmidt, Kay Electric, Phillips 66, Kara's Game, Head Country BBQ, Dewayne's BBQ, Sindy Convers, Tucker Plumbing, Get Real Cable, BancFirst, United Way, Kay County Fair Board, Photography by MJ, Elaine Nicholson, Comfort Specialist, Whimsy, KT's Creations + More, Karl and Deena Lorett, Stacey and Sarah Morgan, Alia Beck, Lynn Murphy, Sylvia Marlar, Freeda, The Culven's, and Lori Buesing.

The festival ran from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m where the auction took place and the winners were named. Face-painting, hot-shots basketball, dog-grooming, and Indian tacos were also acting to attract the crowd, which was swelling that afternoon despite temperatures into the high-90's.
