Hutton Pharmacy's Clark Bishop receives national honor

The Oklahoma Pharmacist Association (OPhA) celebrated the outstanding efforts of individuals in the pharmacy profession during its Annual Convention and trade show at the Sheraton Hotel at Convention Center in Overland Park, Kansas on July 12-14.

Several individuals were presented with the 2019 Excellence Awards. The Excellence Awards were awarded in four different categories: NCPA Leadership Award, Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award, Excellence in Innovation Award, and the prestigious Bowl of Hygeia Award.

The Excellence in Innovation Award is a national award and coordinated by the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations, and generously sponsored by Upsher-Smith Laboratories, LLC to recognize and honor a qualified pharmacist who has demonstrated significant innovation in their respective practice, method or service directly or indirectly resulting in improved patient care and/or advancement of the profession of pharmacy.

This year's award was presented to Clark Bishop, Pharm. D. a Blackwell, Oklahoma pharmacist and partner in Hutton Pharmacy.

Dr. Bishop graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2007 with a degree in Sociology. He subsequently graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in May 2016 with a doctorate in pharmacy. He is a certified mental health first aid instructor and is a member of the Oklahoma Pharmacists Association (OPhA) and the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA). He is also involved in the Pharmacy Providers of Oklahoma (PPOk) RxSelect Community Pharmacy Enhanced Services Network in Oklahoma.
