Chamber welcomes Autumn Kincaid as Tourism Director

The Blackwell Area Chamber of Commerce has a new staffer eager to help shape Blackwell’s future: Autumn Kincaid, the Chamber’s new tourism director.

Kincaid was all smiles Monday morning as she spoke about her new position.

“As tourism director, it's my role to help plan events here in Blackwell and to find creative and fun ways to not only better our community, but to bring it together,” she said. “I was so happy when I got the job. I've been a Blackwell girl all my life, and I'm so eager to finally be able to give back to the community that has given me so much growing up.”

Kincaid, a 2011 graduate of Blackwell High School, spent two years with the Team Radio Marketing Group in Ponca City. She recently stepped down from her position with alumni relations at Cowley College in Arkansas City, KS. Kincaid said both positions involved working “around the clock” to establish and maintain strong relationships with community members – and to drum up interest in creating new attractions and events.

“I'm due in November with my second child, so I wanted something that would not only let me help my community directly, but something that could keep me closer to home and around the thing I love the most, my family,” she said. “This job really just kind of fell into my lap. It's a perfect example of life presenting you with opportunities that you just have to take as they come.”

In her free time, Kincaid loves spending time with her family. She also loves thrift-store shopping and, of course, being a mother.
