Blackwell Public Library hosting fundraiser sale

by Charles Gerian

Blackwell Public Library is looking to clear some shelf space this week, as they extend their book sale until this Friday, December 4.

In an effort to clear more room in their expansive basement for children’s clubs and various community activities, the Blackwell Public Library is allowing residents to come stuff a bag of books for $1, with the proceeds going directly into library programs.

Head Librarian Lisa Vargas said there are “thousands” of books available, including encyclopedias, dictionaries, historical text books, romance novels, young adult books, children’s literature, fiction, non-fiction, records, and more.

“There’s something for everyone down here,” Vargas said, “we wanted to give the citizens of Blackwell more time to come check it out, so we’ve extended the sale through the end of the week.”

Blackwell Public Library, located at 123 W. Padon, is open from 10 a.m- 6 p.m Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m- 5 p.m on Friday. Masks are encouraged.
