Earl Duane Webb

Earl Duane Webb, 98, of Blackwell passed away on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020. He was born December 2, 1921 on a farm south of Ponca Creek Oklahoma to J.C. and Lillie Ruston Webb, the eighth of nine children.

In 1925, the family moved to a farm west of Wakita, Oklahoma where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1939. He married Thelma Campbell on March 1, 1943 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he was stationed in the Army Air Corps from 1942 – 1945.

After WWII, they farmed north of Deer Creek, Oklahoma and moved to Blackwell in 1958. They were active member of the First Baptist Church in Blackwell for many years.
His lifetime work included farming, oilfield mechanics and welding. When he retired, they enjoyed many winters in Port Aransas, Texas. When at home he was always mowing, edging and trimming, or searching for the best pecans he could find. He really enjoyed these retirement activities, he was still doing them when he was 97.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, an infant daughter; five brothers: Walter, Edgar, Fred, Hurshal and Joe; three sisters: Trecie, Lottie and Mae.
He is survived by his children: Chuck Webb and his wife Jane of Blackwell; Barbara Webb of Tulsa; Mike Webb and his wife Kathi of Broken Arrow; Steve Webb and his wife Diane of Tulsa; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.

Internment was at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Nardin, Oklahoma. There will be a family gathering at a date to be determined when conditions allow.
