Blackwell Memorial Pool set to open Friday

Blackwell Memorial Pool is scheduled to open this Friday, May 28th, according to an excited pool manager Tobi Wood.

Blackwell Memorial’s hours will be from 1 p.m. -6 p.m. daily with night swim times to be announced at a later time. Prices for entry will be 5 & under free with a paying adult, $1 for students, and $2 for adults.

Wood noted that passes will again be available for purchase, with $30 for one swimmer, $45 for two, $60 for a family of four plus $15 for each additional swimmer. Blackwell Memorial Pool will once again host private parties which will be $50 for pool rental and $10 per hour per lifeguard (2 guard minimum).

Swimming lesson sign-ups will begin in mid-June.

Wood stated that the pool will have 13 lifeguards this year, and that she and her staff have been hard at work getting the pool clean for a fun summer.

New to the pool this year is a brand new slide installed by Blackwell’s Street & Parks Department earlier this spring. The Splash Pad is currently still down for repairs.
