United Outreach to host paint party at Elks Lodge

Blackwell United Outreach will host a paint party Feb. 10 at the Elks Lodge on 29th Street to raise money for its community efforts. Tickets to the party are being sold by the Blackwell Area Chamber of Commerce for $35 per kit. Guests can paint a flower pot or a St. Patrick’s Day or a Valentine’s Day gnome.
DeWayne’s BBQ will cater the event, and the Elks will provide a cash bar.
Painting kits can also be picked up from the United Outreach office and taken to be worked on from the safety and comfort of home. The organization is also selling tea towels online and through the Chamber of Commerce.
The towels feature artist renderings of various Blackwell landmarks, including the 4-H building at the Kay County Free Fairgrounds, the water tower, the Memorial Pool, the old train at Beatty-Rodgers Park, the Top of Oklahoma Museum, the Blackwell Public Library, the Maroon Spirit symbol and a barn quilt.
