Blackwell baseball coach resigns

The Blackwell Board of Education met for a briefValentine’s Day meeting on Monday night to accept the resignations of two special education paraprofessionals and BHS Baseball Coach Claytin Beaver.
“I met with Claytin shortly after the new year started and he told me he was moving back to southeastern Oklahoma,” Superintendent Shawn Haskins told the board, “He said that he couldn't survive on teachers salary. This is the fourth year in my five that we’ve struggled for a baseball coach. We just can’t seem to keep them here.”
The two paras who resigned were Cynthia Colvin and Kaley Cassady at Blackwell Elementary.
“Being a para is one of the toughest jobs we have for little pay. It’s a hard job, and you have to respect the people that do it. It’s not easy what they do, and it can be extremely difficult at times. We wish them the best,” Haskins said.
The Board of Education then convened into Executive Session where they approved the employment of the 2022-2023 school year which included all positions including two new subs which were Faith LaBlue and Danielle Peterson.
