Larry Arnold Smith

Larry Arnold Smith, 79, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022, at his home.

Larry was born October 18, 1942, in Kansas City, KS, the son of Leonard Vernon, and Della Florence (Arnold) Smith.  He attended Blackwell Public Schools kindergarten through 12th grade. Larry had many employment adventures ending with his time at the Mirage Casino, Las Vegas NV where he was a slot supervisor.  He was united in marriage on April 10, 1965 to Hilda (Pitts) Smith in Las Vegas, NV.  He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years and was in the Army Reserve for 1 year.  

He was preceded in death by his son, Clifford Smith, Jr.

Survivors include; his wife, Hilda Smith, of the home; 2 sons, Donnie Smith and wife Brenda, Ottawa, KS, David Smith, Tonganoxie; 1 daughter, Kathy McKitrick and husband Troy, Tonganoxie; one sister, Sylvia Johns, Ponca City, OK; 9 grandchildren:  and 16 great-grandchildren.

Larry loved his family, cats, photography, traveling, and collecting too many things to list.  

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in his name to Leavenworth County Humane Society.
