Softball equipment drive underway: where to donate

Blackwell City Hall will be a drop-off location for new and gently used softball equipment through the month of March.

The drop-off is on the first floor near the utility counter. City Hall, 221 W. Blackwell Ave., is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays.

Drop-off locations are also at the Chamber of Commerce, 120 S. Main St., and Kay Electric Cooperative, 300 W. Doolin Ave.

A drop-off will also take place March 26 at the Southwest Cupid Softball Complex, 2222 W. College Ave., from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This drive is hosted by the Blackwell Softball Association. Leaders want to make sure all players get a chance to have gear this season.

Items requested include: helmets, pads, bats, gloves and other gear.
