BHS announces valedictorians and salutatorians for 2021-22
Blackwell High School has announced its valedictorians and salutatorians for the 2021-2022 school year. Charleigh Haskins and Madalyn Jones were named valedictorians, and Hunter Easley and Kahle Lambert were named salutatorians. Tap the photo arrow to view their panel photos.
Charleigh Haskins is the daughter of Shawn and Amy Haskins. She is the granddaughter of Gary and Diane Haskins, Penny and Jim Blackburn and Robert and Mary Lou Gray. She has attended Blackwell schools for five years and Rush Springs for nine years. She spent two years in band, and she spent four years in Pep Club, Student Council, golf and quiz bowl. She served as a wrestling manager for four years, and she was a member of the Gifted and Talented Students organization.
Haskins was on the national, state and superintendent’s honor roll. She was also in the National Technical Honor Society. She was Miss BHS in 2021, and she was a wrestling royalty attendant during her sophomore and junior years. She was also the Student Council executive vice president and has served as a representative. She attends the First Christian Church. She hopes to further her education Friends University and major in radiologic technology.
Madalyn Jones is the daughter of Jeremy and Marti Jones and the granddaughter of Marva and Gary Jones. She has attended Blackwell schools for her entire educational career. Madalyn Jones served on the BancFirst Student Bank Board as well as Student Council, FCCLA, Pep Club and GATS. She was in the National Honor Society and was on the superintendent’s and principal’s honor roll. Jones was a student in the Advanced 2D and Advanced 3D art classes and was a Student Council officer.
She attends the First Baptist Church. She has volunteered at Stillwater Medical Center - Blackwell and the American Red Cross. She plans to attend Northern Oklahoma College.
Hunter Easley is the daughter of Lesley Easley and the granddaughter of Larry and Ann Sheets. Hunter Easley has attended Blackwell schools for 12 years and was involved in band, the BancFirst Student Bank Board and GATS. She was a Girl’s State delegate, and she performed in a musical. She was involved in Student Council and choir for four years, jazz choir for two years and All State Choir and Band for five years.
She was in the National Honor Society and on the superintendent’s honor roll. Easley was an All-State Choir medalist and a Student Council representative. She volunteered at the Blackwell Animal Hospital. She plans to attend the University of Oklahoma to pursue her dream of being a researcher at the Smithsonian Museum or working in the field of anthropology.
Kahle Lambert is the son of Jennifer and Heath Lambert. He is the grandson of Mike and Karen Lambert and Dennis and Marscha Kahle. He has attended Blackwell schools for his entire educational career. Kahle Lambert was a member of the National Honor Society, the State Honor Society and was on the superintendent’s honor roll. He played football, basketball and baseball. He was a member of Student Council and served on the BancFirst Student Bank Board.
He was runner-up for Maroon Spirit, and he was a junior and sophomore royalty escort. He was a Student Council president and representative. He attends the Immanuel Baptist Church. There, he works in the sound booth and helps with Vacation Bible School. He also helped clean up the Main Street pocket park. He plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in engineering.
