Chamber Banquet set for Friday

This weekend will see the long-awaited return of the Blackwell Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet, which will include musical entertainment by Top of OK Jam headliner Sunny Sweeney.

The event will take place Friday at the Blackwell Event Center at the county fairgrounds on south Main Street. The event begins at 7 p.m., with food being provided by Big Time BBQ of Tonkawa.

Tickets for the event are still available as of press time from the Chamber of Commerce, 120 S. Main Street. They’re also available at RCB Bank, Stride Bank and BancFirst.

Sponsors for the event include Stride Bank, Golden Chick, Kay Electric Cooperative and Stillwater Medical Center - Blackwell.

The Chamber of Commerce banquet honors businesses and individuals within the community. The Business of the Year Award and the I Am Blackwell Award will be given during the banquet.

The event hasn’t taken place since 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
