Blackwell cleanup set for April 30

The City of Blackwell and the Blackwell Area Chamber of Commerce are preparing for the 2022 Great American Cleanup’s citywide trash removal day on April 30, with sign-ups now open for community members and groups.
To register, call the City of Blackwell at 580-363-7250 or the Chamber of Commerce at 580-363-4195.
The clean-up will begin at the Blackwell Fairgrounds on Main Street at 9 a.m., with volunteers given bags, gloves, vests and shirts while supplies last.
Groups will then be divided to clean different areas, including parks, schools and roadsides.
Last year, more than 50 people attended the clean-up and tackled the B Street Ballpark, Kay County Free Fairgrounds, area parks, school campuses and more.
The cleanup is an annual program offered by Keep Oklahoma Beautiful.
This year, it is sponsored by the Oklahoma Shirt Company, OG&E, Lowe’s, Pepsi, the Oklahoma Beverage Association, the Public Service Company of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority and the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality.
