Chicken and Noodle lunch returns for Homecoming 2022

The unofficial theme of Blackwell’s 2022 Homecoming seems to be “Back to Normal.”

With the Blackwell tradition of morning coffee at the high school scheduled for Sept. 30, another Homecoming staple is returning as well since the 2020 pandemic: the Blackwell Public School Foundation’s chicken and noodle lunch at the Kay Room on Doolin Avenue.

“The delicious taste of chicken and noodles, coupled with the chance to visit with old friends and classmates, is back at the Blackwell High School 2022 Homecoming, Sept. 30 at the Kay Electric Kay Room, 300 W. Doolin,” Foundation member Dianne Braden said.

Lunch will begin at 11 a.m. Tickets cost $10 each and are being sold at Blackwell banks, schools and the Blackwell Area Chamber of Commerce. “After a two-year absence due to COVID restrictions, we are happy to again be able to sponsor this popular event,” Foundation President Jim Corbin said. “It’s such a great time to see people from all the different classes. Get your tickets early. You don’t want to miss out.”

The schedule for Blackwell’s 2022 Homecoming includes: alumni coffee at the Blackwell High School Study Center at 10 a.m., the Foundation lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Homecoming assembly in the high school auditorium at 1:30 p.m., the Homecoming parade at 4 p.m., Homecoming coronation at 6:30 p.m. and the football game at 7 p.m.
