Blackwell F.D to host Christmas for Kids auction at Top of OK concert

by Charles Gerian

Blackwell Fire Department will be hosting a Silent Auction on October 8 during the Top of OK Jam country music concert at Morgan Field.

The silent auction will be held from 4 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. with all proceeds collected going towards Blackwell Fire’s annual Christmas for Kids program where they provide toys and other gifts to local families.

Blackwell Fire Battalion Chief Justin Kienzle said that thousands of dollars were raised last year, and looks forward to the community once again coming out to support Blackwell Fire Department’s program.

“We have several items that will be auctioned from local businesses, and we will also be auctioning off stuff that our department is making, including fire pits and other items,”

Kienzle said. “We will open up the auction at 4 p.m. just before the concert. People can bid on items or they can donate directly to the program. Every little bit helps us provide Christmas joy.”

Blackwell Fire Department will be taking donations through December.

The Christmas for Kids drive is held just prior to Christmas.

The Top of OK Jam will feature the Casey Donahew Band, Bellamy Brothers, Cassy Kendrick, Krislyn Arthurs, and Levi Walker. Gates will open for the event at 4:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are available at topofokjam.com
