Patricia “Pat” Louise Butler, 92 of Newkirk, Oklahoma passed from this life on November 9th, 2022, at Creekside Assisted Living in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Pat was the eldest of four children born to Cecil and Maude Rankin. She attended grade school at PAHE and Peters before transitioning to Burbank where she graduated from high school in 1948.

As a child she loved to try to get out of the task of milking the cows with her sister, JoAnn. She will be remembered most for her love of coffee and community, and the kindness and grace that she always exuded.

She married Billy “Joe” Butler on April 25, 1953 and had two children, JoDell Butler Thomas and Jay Butler. She worked at SH Kress for 2 years, and Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator. She later left her working career to be a mother and housewife for the remainder of her life.

She leaves behind her two children, daughter JoDell and her husband, Bob Thomas, and son Jay and his wife, Peggy Butler, and a step daughter, Sherry Ward, and her husband Nathan. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christina Walker, Nathan “Carter” Ward II, Phillip Thomas, Jennifer Richardson, Jessi Jackson, PJ Butler, Ashley Butler, and 6 great grandchildren. Her only surviving sibling is Jane Beguin and surviving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Maude Rankin, her husband Joe Butler, her sisters JoAnn Rowe and Beth Bledsoe, and Brothers-in-law, Jerry Beguin and Reuben (Rue) Rowe.

The immediate family is extremely grateful for the love and care that Pat received in her final years from all who were close to her and in particular, Donna Gibson and her selfless gift of many hours of time, love, and compassion she continually poured into our beloved Pat.
