Obituary

Ralph E. Meade

1955 ~ 2023

Ralph Eugene Meade was born December 29, 1955 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, son of Wayne Nelson and Donna Catheryn (Varvil) Meade. He passed away February 25, 2023 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 67.
Ralph lived in Oklahoma City until age 14. He went to Putnam City Schools through the 8th grade. The family then moved to a ranch south of Spaulding, OK, just outside of Holdenville. He graduated from Holdenville High School with the Class of 1974. He then attended OSU for a couple of years.
On May 31, 1980, Ralph was united in marriage with the love of his life, Janie Lanelle Bradley at the First Baptist Church in Holdenville. They made their home there for a short time before relocating to Calumet, Oklahoma, where together they became farmers. In 1986, they moved to Grant County, Oklahoma.
Ralph was a member of the First Baptist Church in Medford. He served many years on the Farm Bureau Board, and in 1999 his family was named Farm Family of the Year for the State of Oklahoma by Farm Bureau. Ralph loved the outdoors and when not farming and ranching could often be found hunting or fishing.
In 2016, as ill health began restricting their activities, Ralph and Janie decided to retire and move to Indianola, Oklahoma. They became members of the Choate Prairie Baptist Church.
Ralph loved his family fiercely and always put them first. He and Janie seldom spent time apart. His daughters brought great joy to him and he raised them to love the land and the outdoors. As for his grandchildren, there are no words to describe how much he loved them and how proud and blessed he felt to be their grandpa.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Janie on July 26, 2022 and his parents.
Ralph will be deeply missed by his daughter, Janelle Hoover and husband, Ronnie, and their children Christian and Karlee; daughter, Rachel Meade; sister, Alisa Krakel and her children, Dean, Sean, and Brent; brother, Frank Meade, wife, Debbie, and children, Amanda and Wayne; his First Baptist Church families; other relatives; and many friends.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Medford, Oklahoma with Reverend Mike Ross from the Choate Prairie Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Olive Cemetery, Nardin, Oklahoma.
Memorials in memory of Ralph may be made to the Ralph Meade Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
