City of Blackwell planning tire collection drive

The City of Blackwell is hosting a tire collection event that will be free for Blackwell residents.

The community-wide collection will be May 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Blackwell Fairgrounds.

According to city officials, the only tires to be accepted are car and light truck tires, as well as motorcycle and moped tires.

Not accepted are: tires on rims, ATV or off-road vehicle tires, airplane, bike, lawnmower, wheelbarrow, heavy equipment, bus or tractor tires.

The event will only accept eight tires per person and is limited to residents only, not businesses.
