City-wide cleanup event set for Saturday April 15

The City of Blackwell has set the date for the 2023 Great American Cleanup city-wide trash-off event for April 15 at 9 a.m. The Great American Cleanup will be co-hosted with the Blackwell Area Chamber of Commerce. Trash bags, gloves, safety vests and shirts will be provided to volunteers. Those interested will meet at the Blackwell Fairgrounds at 9 a.m. A light breakfast and refreshments will be offered before groups are divided up throughout the town. In recent years, groups have tackled the baseball fields, fairgrounds, school sites, In 2022, the City of Blackwell and Chamber of Commerce had the biggest turn out since the event’s inception. Nearly 40 volunteers from local churches, banks and community groups participated.
