Blackwell Associated Charities hosting back-to-school shoe drive

Blackwell Associated Charities will be “kicking off” their Sole Mates shoe drive on August 8, the same day as Blackwell Public Schools enrollment.

Blackwell Associated Charities on 212 E. Bridge will be holding the drive, presenting free shoe vouchers to The Shoe Department Encore in Ponca City from noon until 4:30 p.m. or any Wednesday following that from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. then 1 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. until they run out of vouchers.

Ponca’s store is located at 2604 north 14th.

This program provides one pair of shoes for a child that will be attending Blackwell Public Schools for the 2023-2024 school year.

The child must be on free or reduced lunches, and attending in-person school for the 2023-2024 school year. Proof on enrollment will be required.

Parents can also bring proof of enrollment done online as well by presenting their students’ Wengage account information.
