2023 Kay County Fair Schedule
The Kay County Free Fair Board announced their schedule of events for this September’s upcoming 2023 Fair.
Monday, September 11, will see entries taken for Agriculture and 4-H from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.; entries for school exhibits from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m.; and entries for Domestic Science & Arts taken from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. all at the Fairgrounds’ Event Center.
Tuesday, September 12 will mark the first official day of the 2023 Fair.
On Tuesday, entries will continue for domestic science & arts as well as plants & flowers, agriculture, and 4-H / FFA from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Event Center.
School exhibits may be entered from 8 a.m. until noon at the Event Center.
OHCE Judging will take place at the Event Center beginning at 9:30 a.m.
At the Livestock Pavillion, cattle, poultry, rabbit, and horse check-ins will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Wednesday, September 13, will begin with judging crops, education, 4-H, FFA, science & arts, horticulture, plants, and flowers at the Eventer Center beginning at 9 .m. with chicken judging starting at 9 a.m. in the Livestock Pavilion.
At 5 p.m. rabbit judging will begin at the Livestock Pavillion.
From 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. the sheep and goat check-in will be held at the Livestock Pavillion.
The cattle show will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Whitman Arena.
Thursday, September 14 will see the luncheon of the Friends of 1893 Land Run held at the Kay Electric Kay Room on Doolin at noon followed by their program at 1 p.m.
At 6 p.m. the Tractor Driving Contest will be held east of the Horse Arena on B Street.
6:30 p.m. will see the Sheep Show in the Livestock Pavillion and the goat show to be held 10 minutes after the sheep’s program.
Friday, September 15, will have the 4-H and FFA Livestock Judging Contest begin at 9 a.m. in the Livestock Pavillion.
5 p.m. that evening will have the hog check-in and the hog show at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, September 16, will see the Kay County Horse Show for Open & 4-H / FFA at the Horse Arena at 9 a.m.
8 p.m. - 9 p.m. will see the poultry released at the Livestocj Pavillion.
Sunday, September 17, rabbits will be released from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. and other exhibits released from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. that Sunday.
That day the horse show will be held at 1 p.m.
