Blackwell P.D. recieve recognition for standards and practices from state organizations
The Blackwell Police Department received recognition from the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Accreditation Program for their adherence to standards and practices.'
Chief Jay Brewer and Lt Cory Ingram received a certificate of verification from the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Accreditation Program at last night's City Council Meeting.
Kevin McCullough, Field Supervisor for the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training, spoke to the council.
“We are here to recognize the City of Blackwell, Police Chief Jay Brewer, Accreditation Manager Cory Ingram, and all members of the Blackwell Police Department. It is because of the agency’s dedication and commitment to professionalism that we are honored to present his Award of Verification,” said McCullough.
The Blackwell Police Department became the 33rd verified agency in the State of Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (OLEAP) provides law enforcement agencies of the State of Oklahoma with an avenue to demonstrate that they meet commonly accepted minimum standards and best practices for efficient and effective operations.
The Program is endorsed by the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET), the Oklahoma Municipal Assurance Group (OMAG), the Oklahoma Municipal League (OML) and the City Management Association of Oklahoma (CMAO).
