Blackwell Tourism selling Maroon Spirit merch for Homecoming

by Charles Gerian

Anyone who wants some more “Maroon Spirit” in their life in time for Homecoming on October 6 have to look no further than the Blackwell Chamber of Commerce at 120 south Main Street, just next to the Equity Appartments.

Blackwell Tourism has purchased several items that are available at the Chamber, with all proceeds from the sales going directly back into Blackwell Public Schools.

These items include a ceramic coffee mug that says “Blackwell Maroons”, a stainless steel tumbler with the Maroon Spirit logo, maroon colored pens with “Blackwell Maroons” branded on them, and Christmas ornaments that have the Maroon Spirit logo with the words “Blackwell, Oklahoma” on them.

The tumblers are being sold for $30 while the mugs and ornaments are $7 with the pens being $1 a piece.

Shipping is not available, so these are for sale for local pick-up only.

The Chamber of Commerce is open Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. and customers can pay in cash or check.

“We want to promote Blackwell any way we can”, said Sherry Buellesfeld with Blackwell Tourism Development.

“We plan to set up at the Homecoming luncheon. Not only does this help us to promote Blackwell, this helps the schools too, with them receiving all of our profits.”
