Blackwell Library prepares for busy December

by Charles Gerian

Blackwell Public Library kick-started the month of December with its third “Craft Ladies” group where over 30 people came to the library on December 1 to make Christmas-themed door hangars, a project which Library Director of Operations Talyn Spence said was a tremendous success, just as her past two doormat crafting groups had been.

“It’s wonderful to get so many people in here working on these crafts,” said Spence, “we will have more information soon on what the next project will be.”

The Library is also holding their second meeting of their newly-formed Book Club tonight, December 6. They are currently finishing up “The Christie Affair” before moving onto their next novel at their meeting in January which is “All The Pretty Things” by Emily Arsenault.

On December 13th, the library will be welcoming Blackwell Elementary School’s 2nd graders in for a Christmas Story Time.

On Wednesday, December 20th, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be taking a break from their busy time at the North Pole to do a story time at Blackwell Library at 4 p.m.

The library will be closed December 22, 23, and December 25 for the Christmas holiday.
