Wrestling Royalty 2023: Meet the King, Queen, and Court

Blackwell High School announced the Wrestling Royalty court for the 2023-2024 Wrestling Season last week with King Lawson Lusk and Queen Jayleen Trevizo leading the royalty which will have their ceremony Thursday, December 14, at Blackwell High School’s Charles Hetrick Fieldhouse.

Following King Lawson Lusk is Senior Escort Jaxon Brown. There will be three Junior Escorts with Payton Head, Lane Looper, and Louden Wolfe who will be walking a senior during the ceremony. Sophomore Escorts are Caden Jurges and Grant Rowe.

Wrestling Queen Jayleen Trevizo will be followed by Kyler Ailey and Malorie Mies as Senior Attendants. Junior Attendants are Gabbie Bennett and Adisyn Peetoom. Sophomore Attendants are Kaleah Freel and London Lawrence.

King Lawson Lusk is the son of Marcie and Reed Lusk and he has attended Blackwell Schools his entire life. Lusk has been involved on the BancFirst Board for one year, baseball for three years, FCCLA for one year, student council for one year, and wrestling for four years.

Lusk was a Wrestling State Qualifier in 2022 and 2023. He was a member of the 2023 State Championship Team as well. Lusk plans to attend Northwestern Oklahoma State University to pursue a career in Wildlife Management.

Queen Jayleen Trevizo is the daughter of Sergio and Rocio Trevizo and she has attended Blackwell Schools her entire life. She has been involved in the BancFirst Board for one year, cheer for four years, FCCLA for four years, Pep Club for four years, student council one year, and the Principal’s Honor Roll. She was recently the runner-up for Miss BHS. She plans to attend Northern Oklahoma College to pursue a career in radiology.

Senior Escort Jaxon Brown is the son of Tim and Rachel Brown and he has attended Blackwell schools his entire life. He is in band, the BancFirst Board, and student council. He has wrestled for four years. After high school he plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in accounting.

Senior Attendant Kyler Ailey is the daughter of Kayla Jackson and Tyler Ailey and has attended Blackwell schools her entire life. She has been involved in softball, vocal, track, and yearbook. She is involved in the Deer Creek Food Bank and attends Connect Church in Ponca. After graduation she plans to attend NOC for her associate degree then Oklahoma Wesleyan University to obtain a career in Grief Counseling and Post-Partum Loss.

Senior Attendant Malorie Sherri Mies is the daughter of Lindesy Perkins and has been involved in agriculture, the BancFirst board, FCCLA, Pep Club, Softball, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She has also been a manager for both baseball and wrestling. She plans to attend college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University to pursue a career in cardiac sonography.

Junior Escort Payton Head is the son of Denise and Neal Head and he has been at Blackwell Schools since he was in the third grade. He has been involved in baseball, ag, football, and wrestling.

Junior Escort Louden Wolfe is the son of Kyle and Jayme Wolfe. He has attended Blackwell schools his entire life and has been involved in ag and wrestling.

Junior Escort Lane Looper is the son of Mindi Johnson and Kendall Looper and has attended Blackwell schools his whole life. He has been involved in ag, football, and wrestling.

Junior Attendant Adisyn Peetoom has attended Blackwell schools her whole life and has been involved in ag, Pep Club, student council, and softball. She was in the National Honor Society and on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll. She was also on the First Team All-District Softball Pitcher for 2023. She attends the First Baptist Church of Tonkawa.

Junior Attendant Gabrielle Bennett is the daughter of Tiffany and Cody Bennett and has attended Blackwell schools for three years. She has been involved in Pep Club and softball. She is in 2D and 3D art. She is also a volunteer for Kara’s Game. She plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma for graphic design.

Sophomore Escort Caden Jurgens is the son of Rachel Jurgens and Jordan Moser. He has always attended Blackwell schools. He is involved in ag, baseball, football, wrestling, and was on the State Honor Society. He plans to attend the University of Kansas for mechanical engineering.

Sophomore Escort Grant Rowe is the son of Whitney and Tyson Rowe and has attended Blackwell schools his entire life. He has been involved in wresting and was on the National Honor Society. He plans to attend Oklahoma State University for a degree in the field of agriculture.

Sophomore Attendant Kaleah Freel is the daughter of Adam and Vanessa Freel. She has attended Blackwell schools her whole life. She was involved in student council, cheer, Pep Club, and was on the Principal’s Honor Roll. She attends the First Assembly of God Church and plans to go to the University of Oklahoma to pursue a degree in Pediatric Nursing.

Sophomore Attendant London Lawrence is the daughter of Candice Lawrence and Aaron Sanford and has attended Blackwell schools her entire life. She has been involved in basketball, pep club, student council, and plans to attend Northern Oklahoma College to pursue a career in interior design.
