Johnson O’Malley (JOM) program is to offer avenues for achievement to Native children through the active participation of students and parents in academic and cultural education.
The Johnson-O’Malley Program is a federally funded initiative established by the Johnson-O’Malley Act of 1934. This legislation enables contracts for the education of eligible Indian students in public schools and formerly private schools.
The Kanza Human Development Division JOM program operates locally, following an educational plan approved by the Bureau of Indian Education. This plan includes educational objectives designed to meet the specific needs of eligible American Indian and Alaska Native students.
