2024 Girls State Delegates: Meet your Blackwell representatives
The 2024 delegates to attend Oklahoma Girls State were chosen Thursday, February 15, 2024.
Blackwell’s Russell-Litchfield Unit #7 and Blackwell Elks Lodge are sponsoring Adisyn Peetoom, Brooklyn Ray, and Alexandria Bates to represent Blackwell High School and Blackwell as a whole in Edmond at the annual Girls State conference at the end of May.
Peetoom is the daughter of Ryan & Kim Peetoom. She is involved in PepClub, Softball, FFA, NHS & Student Council. She is in National Honor Society and on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll. She attends The First Baptist Church in Tonkawa and helps with Children’s Church. She plans to attend college and play softball while obtaining a degree in Ag Business.
Ray, is the daughter of Jeff and Jennifer Ray. She is involved in softball, Pep Club, and NHS. She is a Baseball Manager. She is on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and in National Honor Society. She attends The First Presbyterian Church. She plans to play softball in college while obtaining a degree in Sports Management.
Bates is the daughter of Zach and Stacy Bates. She is a member of the Choir and is on the Honor Roll. After college she plans to open her own Bakery business.
The American Legion Auxiliary 2024 Girls State will be held on the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond from May 26,2024 through May 31, 2024. Girls State is an educational program focused on government, leadership, and patriotism.
The entire week is spent learning about city, county, and state government. They must be junior girls in High School and must never have been married. They should show high moral character, leadership qualities, ability to work with others, and an interest in government. Delegates must salute the Flag of the United States of American and show it proper respect.
