Toilets 'round town raise money for Blackwell Associated Charities

April 18, 2024

The Blackwell Leadership Class of ‘24 Fundraiser for Associated Charities has been “toilet-y awesome”, according to the Class of ‘24.

You may have seen it flushing its way around town these last two weeks as Citizens and Businesses have been joining in the fun, with pictures posted almost daily to the Blackwell Area Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Blackwell Facebook pages.

The class hopes to raise substantial funds to aid Associated Charities with food, personal hygiene items, shelving, and some updates and repairs.

Leadership Blackwell’s “Take the Plunge to Wipe Out Hunger” fundraising will be raising money for Associated Charities-Food Bank. This organization has been chosen for their class project.

With the funds raised, they plan to make repairs and renovations to the building to better the accessibility of their location. Associated Charities' needs include gravel in their parking lot, stump removal, entry renovation, updated seating, and other various projects.

The toilet will flush its way around the community to different yards. Once you have received

the toilet in your yard you will need to: Pay $25 cash/check or gift card; Donate 15 grocery/hygiene items instead of the $25 fee; For an additional $25 or 15 items, you can place a toilet on a property of your choice.

If you do not wish to pay/donate items, the toilet will remain on your property for 3-5

Days. If you do not want to take the risk of receiving multiple dumps, you can pay an additional $200 to be wiped clean!

If you have been dumped, please contact Sue Hetrick-(832) 628-4902 or Deidra Sixkiller-(580)

363-6321 to have it removed. Please help support Leadership Blackwell with their class project and share the toilet love to different yards of your choice!

Some examples of hygiene items needed are shampoo and conditioner, body wash, feminine products, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste, lotion.

Examples of grocery items needed include any non-perishable items (canned goods, rice, cereal, noodles), and brown paper bags.

All items are greatly appreciated and benefit Associated Charities-Food Bank.
