Clayton Elmer Rowe Obituary

Surrounded by his loving family, Clayton Elmer Rowe, 88, went to be with The Lord on April 5, 2024, at his home SW of Blackwell. Clayton was born on February 15, 1936, to Evelyn Maud (House) and Charles Elmer Rowe on their farm in Blackwell. He attended Union 61 and Blackwell Junior High. He was a member of the graduating class of 1954. On March 5, 1961, Clayton married Gloria Joyce Murphy at the Presbyterian Church in Blackwell. They made their home on the farm SW of town. During their union, they were blessed with two daughters, Cindy and Patty. On the farm, Clayton raised wheat and cattle. He also worked for various Central Heat and Air businesses in the Kay County area, and for Blackwell Public Schools. Clayton retired in 2008. He enjoyed spending time visiting and playing with his grandchildren. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Evelyn Rowe, sister Nellie Rowe, sister Betty Rowe, brother Wayne Rowe, sister Erma (Rowe McCulloch) Summers, and grandson Tristan Wynn. He is survived by his wife Joyce of the home, daughters Cindy (Darin) Wynn, and Patty Rowe; grandson Landon Wynn, and granddaughter Annalaura Rowe, and a sister Arnetta (Rowe) Hudson, all of Blackwell; along with numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. A private family memorial service will be held later.
