Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home at 1210 S. 10th Street in Blackwell will be revving and roaring on Friday, May 17, with their first-ever car show which will double as an open house and fair to give the residents there a chance to see the community and, more importantly, have some fun.

Ryan Hillhouse, Housekeeper for Hillcrest, said that he was excited about the event which has been long in the making.

“I’ve been trying to get this off the ground for a while,” said Hillhouse, “we want to give our guests something fun to look forward to, and allow the community to come to see them and check out our facility, which has recently undergone a lot of updates.”

The car show will be held Friday, May 17, from 11:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. and will feature vendors, food trucks, motorcycles, and cars spread across the parking lot and lawn.

“It’s a 1950s theme,” Hillhouse explained, “so we will have tasteful pinup models and older model cars. It’s going to be exciting, these are a lot of cars that our residents have grown up with, and I know it’ll bring a smile to their faces.”

There will be a bounce house as well.

The event will be free to the public, and those interested in entering their vehicles or setting up a booth can contact Hillhouse at 1-580-670-4673
