Arthur Lee Moraine

Arthur Lee Moraine, 88, of Blackwell went to be with Jesus, May 13, 2024, with his loving wife of 65 years and his family by his side.

Arthur was born November 23, 1935 3 miles east of Osawotamie, Kansas at his home in the country to Cecil Raymond Moraine and Waunita May Moraine. Soon after delivery, his mother placed a crown on his head and lovingly claimed him “King Arthur”. He grew up in Paola, Kansas, graduating from Paola High School in 1952. He worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad where he completed a 2 year apprenticeship becoming a certified railroad mechanic and machinist. In 1959 he married the love of his life, Shirley Jean Brewer. In 1963 they moved to Indiana. Arthur graduated from what is now called Indiana Wesleyan University in 1970, later attending Purdue University. Arthur served the Lord through pastoring many churches throughout the years. Together Arthur and Shirley built a legacy of faithfulness unto the Lord. They enjoyed traveling in their retirement, spending winters in their RV with friends at South Padre Island and making wonderful memories in Hawaii. Arthur loved music and could play almost any instrument by ear. He especially enjoyed playing the accordion, guitar, and piano. Arthur was always singing praises to the Lord and bringing joy to his family through song.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Waunita Moraine, his brothers Harold and Ralph Moraine, and grandson Caleb Moraine. His life is celebrated by his surviving family; his loving wife of 65 years, his Shirley; his daughter, Christina (Gene) Collins; sons Mark (Renee) Moraine and Michael (Heather) Moraine. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Wilford (Malia) Collins, Jonathan Moraine, Sarah (Andrew) Coufal, David (Jamie) Moraine, Amethyst (Tyler) Boyles, Samuel (Amy) Collins, Benjamin (Lillian) Collins, Sapphire Moraine, and Michael Moraine. Arthur is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, Adeline Collins, Allen Collins, Sabrina Moraine, Eliza Collins, Lillie Coufal, Samuel Collins, Shiloh Boyles, Wesley Collins, Cyrus Coufal, baby boy Collins, and baby Collins. A brother Bearl Moraine, sister Carol Ann (Ray) Hawk, brother Duane (Joan) Moraine.

Arthur wanted all who he met to know that they could come to salvation by repenting of their sin, which was paid for by the shedding of the blood of Jesus Christ and putting their faith in him. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Pallbearers are Wilford Collins, Jonathan Moraine, David Moraine, Andrew Coufal, Tyler Boyles, Samuel Collins, Benjamin Collins, and Michael Jr. Moraine. Honorary casketbearer will be Allan Collins.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024 at Christ’s Church in Blackwell Oklahoma, with Rev. Gary Brewer and Rev. Harold Hutchins officiating. Burial will follow in the Caldwell Cemetery in Caldwell, Kansas.

A memorial has been established in his honor with Christ’s Church, 1203 S. 6th Street, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
