Grand Mental Health announces partnership with NOC Tonkawa staff and students
GRAND Mental Health is excited to announce their partnership with Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa to deliver on-site behavioral health services to students, faculty and staff.
“I am grateful for this partnership. We all know college can be an amazing experience but also a very stressful time.” Said Larry Smith, CEO of GRAND Mental Health. “I believe cultivating great minds should include ensuring students have access to mental health services.”
During the summer, students, faculty and staff will have access to behavioral health specialists from GRAND Mental Health. The specialists will be on-site located in the Administration building, Monday and Wednesdays during the summer and Monday – Thursday during the school year.
Walk-ins and appointments are available. To make an appointment students, faculty and staff can make a referral on the GRAND website, www.grandmh.com/request-services/.
Most major insurance plans are accepted, and flexible payment options are also available.
Services include individual therapy, peer support, care coordination and wellness checks.
“NOC Tonkawa is very excited to partner with GRAND to provide on-site mental health services to our students and employees.” Said Jason Johnson, VP of Student Affairs. “Care coordinator Kori (Watters) and recovery support specialist Vincent (Logsdon) from GRAND are a great fit to the NOC family.”
NOC President Diana Watkins added, “We know that mental health challenges can negatively affect academic performance, and in the wake of the uncertainty created by the pandemic students face those challenges in unprecedented numbers. Goal 1 of NOC’s 2019-2025 Strategic Plan is Student Quality of Life and part of Goal 2 focuses on Student Retention and Graduation. This partnership with GRAND Mental Health addresses both by ensuring our students have access to the quality mental health care they need which will have a positive impact on retention and graduation rates.”
