Jon Lloyd Ebert, of Kingman, AZ, passed away early Friday morning, May 16, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 65 years old.
Jon was born on July 11, 1959, in Blackwell, OK to Joseph Merle and Geraldine Mae Ebert. He grew up in Blackwell, spending his time with his close friends “down at the river”. Jon attended Blackwell public schools, graduating from Blackwell High School in 1977. Following his education in Blackwell, he went on to Northern Oklahoma College and The University of Oklahoma, where he received his master’s degree in mechanical engineering. In 1984, Jon was honored with a scholarship to Stanford University, where he earned his Ph.D.in Mechanical Engineering in 1994.
He worked in the California Bay Area as a consultant before joining Integrated Systems Incorporated. There he met two of his future partners at SC Solutions, Inc. They founded the Systems & Control Division at SC in 1996. He remained a key partner at SC, where he became one of the world’s foremost authorities on Rapid Thermal Processing (RTP) – a key step in semiconductor manufacturing. Jon remained a loyal engineer, working diligently on every new project that came across his desk.
Jon lived, worked, and raised his two children, William and Sidney Ebert, alongside his wife, Connie Ebert, in Northern California until 2020. The Covid Pandemic along with his yearning for a “dark sky” prompted a move to Northern Arizona. He enjoyed countless late nights viewing and photographing the wonders of our galaxy and beyond. Astronomy was his passion.
Jon is survived by his wife, Connie Ebert of Kingman, AZ; daughter, Sidney Ebert of Glendale, WI; son, William Ebert of La Crosse, WI; a sister, Kathi Dunham and family of Longview, TX; a brother, Joe Ebert and family of Medford, OK; a sister-in-law, Tina Ebert and family of Blackwell, OK, along with close friends and colleagues from all over the world. He is preceded in death by his parents and a stepmother, Wanda Ebert, his brother, Richard Ray Ebert, and several close friends.
A celebration of life is scheduled at Jon and Connie’s home in Kingman, AZ on June 20th, for friends and colleagues from the West. Later this year, there will be a celebration of life in Blackwell, OK, where his ashes will be scattered “down at the river”.
