Doyal Dean “Digger Dean” Mooring passed away on June 11, 2025 in Willow, Alaska. He was born August 24, 1933 in Westville, OK, to Carl Campbell Mooring and Angella “Angie” Shearer Mooring.

Doyal had three sisters: Lula Attale “Lu” Mooring Burns, Elizabeth Ann “Bibbie” Mooring Walters, and Doris Marie Mooring Finnegan. Two brothers: Donald Carl “Don” Mooring, and Billy W. Mooring.

Dean married Shirley Jean Mayse and had five children: Lennis Deann Mooring Ailey, Sidney Lee Mooring, Jimmy Dean Mooring, Becky Jean Mooring Martin, and Ricky Eugene Mooring.

Dean had a career in seismography moving the family all over the United States. In 1969, he moved to Alaska to work on the pipeline and ended his career drilling water wells in Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ricky Mooring; one granddaughter, Whitney Murray.

He is survived by two daughters and two sons, six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

He requested that there be no memorial services.
