Local Woman Organizes School Supply Drive in Memory of Her Father
July 21, 2025

In a heartfelt tribute to her late father, Robert Small, local resident Amanda Lamb is organizing a school supply drive to help area children prepare for the upcoming school year.
Small, who tragically passed away on November 30, 2024, is remembered by his family and friends as a devoted father and grandfather. Lamb says this donation effort is a way to turn grief into something positive for the community.
“My dad loved his grandbabies more than life itself, so it’s only fitting that we help a few kiddos make sure they have enough supplies for the year,” Lamb said.
She is currently collecting donations of new, unopened school supplies such as scissors, crayons, markers, folders, paper, and more. Once the drive is complete, all items will be donated to Blackwell Elementary School in her father’s name.
“This is my way of keeping his memory alive and spreading a little love in the process,” she said. “He is missed beyond measure, but I’m doing my best to make his memory a happy thing.”
Community members who would like to contribute can contact Lamb directly to arrange a drop-off or pick-up. She plans to take a photo and share the final donation delivery so supporters can see the impact of their generosity.
“Thank you all for your time, compassion, and willingness to help,” she said. “It has truly made this process just a little bit easier.”
Those interested in donating can reach out to Amanda Lamb through Facebook or by phone to coordinate contributions.
A healthy Kay County requires great community news.
