Community Invited to Downtown Clean-Up Ahead of Homecoming

September 19, 2025

With Homecoming just around the corner, local organizers are calling on residents to pitch in and help spruce up downtown Blackwell.
A community-wide Downtown Clean-Up will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with volunteers meeting at the old Homeland parking lot before spreading out along Main Street.
The effort will focus on mowing, picking up trash, and cleaning streets to get the community looking its best for Homecoming celebrations. Participants are encouraged to bring their own tools and supplies, including weed eaters, rakes, shovels, gloves, lawn mowers, and trash bags.
Organizers said the clean-up is a chance for the community to come together in support of local pride and school spirit.
“Homecoming is a special time for our town, and we want Main Street to shine for our students, alumni, and visitors,” the group noted. “Every set of hands makes a difference.”
Residents of all ages are welcome to take part.
