Blackwell High School Names 2025 Maroon Spirit and Miss BHS
Blackwell High School has announced its Maroon Spirit, Miss BHS, and the 2025 courts.
This year’s Maroon Spirit is Grant Rowe, with Reese Lambert selected as Miss BHS.
Serving as Maroon Spirit runners-up are Carson Whitsitt and Cody Lafferty, while Lainey Leatherman and Amelia Leatherman were named Miss BHS runners-up.
Maroon Spirit – Grant Rowe
Rowe is the son of Tyson and Whitney Rowe and the grandson of Rick and Brenda Adams and Trudy Rowe. A lifelong Blackwell student, he has been a member of FFA and the wrestling team for four years. He has also participated in the National Honor Society and earned a place on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll. Rowe previously served on the Wrestling Court as both Junior and Sophomore Escort.
He attends Immanuel Baptist Church and plans to study agricultural science, first at Northern Oklahoma College and later at Oklahoma State University.
Miss BHS – Reese Lambert
Lambert is the daughter of Heath and Jennifer Lambert and the granddaughter of Mike and Karen Lambert and Dennis and Marcsha Kahle. At Blackwell High School, she has been active in basketball and Student Council for four years, Pep Club for three years, Gifted and Talented Students (GATS), and served as football manager for three years. She is a member of both the National and State Honor Societies and has regularly appeared on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.
Lambert has also served as Football Royalty attendant as a sophomore and Basketball Royalty attendant as a junior. She attends Immanuel Baptist Church and plans to pursue a nursing degree at the University of Oklahoma.
Maroon Spirit Runner-Up – Carson Whitsitt
Whitsitt is the son of Courtney Driskill, Nick Grove, and Chad Whitsitt, and the grandson of Janie Driskill, Tim Grove, and Dana Whitsitt. He has participated in FFA for four years, Student Council for three years, and FCA, in addition to playing baseball and football for one year each.
Whitsitt has been a member of both the National and State Honor Societies and has been recognized on the Superintendent’s and Principal’s honor rolls. He attends Immanuel Baptist Church and plans to pursue a degree in agricultural engineering at Oklahoma State University.
Maroon Spirit Runner-Up – Cody Lafferty
Lafferty is the son of Roger and Becky Lafferty and the grandson of Eugene and Betty Roberts and Walter and Lorraine Lafferty. He has been a member of the band and track teams for four years, played football for one year, served on Student Council for two years, and participated in TSA.
He attends Global United Methodist Church and plans to pursue an English degree at the University of Oklahoma.
Miss BHS Runner-Up – Lainey Leatherman
Lainey is the daughter of Shannon Leatherman and the late Cassie Leatherman, and the granddaughter of Susan Stafford, Sally Leatherman, and Ronnie Leatherman. Her activities include serving on the BancFirst Board, playing basketball for one year, FCCLA for two years, school newspaper for one year, Pep Club for three years, Student Council for one year, track for three years, and working as a football manager for two years.
She was also a Wrestling Royalty attendant her junior year. Lainey plans to pursue a career in sports medicine at Northern Oklahoma College.
Miss BHS Runner-Up – Amelia Leatherman
Amelia is also the daughter of Shannon Leatherman and the late Cassie Leatherman, and the granddaughter of Susan Stafford, Sally Leatherman, and Ronnie Leatherman. Her activities include the BancFirst Board, FCCLA, Pep Club, and Student Council. She is a member of both the National and State Honor Societies and has been named to the Principal’s Honor Roll.
Amelia attends St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and plans to study dental hygiene through Northern Oklahoma College.
