Boo Bash Brings a Spooktacular Start to a New Blackwell Tradition

November 07, 2025

Downtown Blackwell was buzzing last week as the city’s first-ever Boo Bash took over the 200 block of West Blackwell Avenue — and the turnout was nothing short of spooktacular.
The Halloween block party, organized by the newly energized Blackwell Chamber of Commerce, was the first major event under the Chamber’s refreshed leadership and renewed community vision. The result? A frightfully fun success.
Hundreds of families filled the streets Tuesday night, with superheroes, ninjas, princesses, and even a few K-Pop Demon Hunters joining in the celebration. The event featured more than 50 vendor booths, games, contests, prizes, and — of course — enough candy to keep Kay County’s dentists busy until next Halloween.
“I would just express our gratitude for the partnership we have with the City of Blackwell and all the departments that helped make the event successful,” said Chamber Director Noel Black. “Our members and local businesses really stepped up to make this something special for the community.”
The Chamber wasn’t alone in pulling off the evening’s eerie excellence. The City of Blackwell brought together an all-star lineup of departments to make the event happen — a true “Monster Mash” of teamwork. The Street & Parks Department handled setup and barricades, the Police and Fire Departments kept things safe (and fun), the Public Library hosted games and activities, and the Public Power & Electric Department lit up the night while handing out treats. Even City Hall’s administrative staff joined in on the fun.
Following the event, the City shared a heartfelt message with the community:
“We’ve truly never seen anything like it! From all of us here in Blackwell, we want to send a HUGE thank you to every single person, business, department, and organization who made our Chamber's first-ever Boo Bash such a massive success.
To the hundreds of families who filled the block — wow! You showed up in full Halloween spirit, and it was incredible to see so many creative costumes, smiling faces, and kids having the time of their lives. That’s exactly what this celebration was meant to be.
A big shoutout to our amazing local businesses and vendors who set up booths — you absolutely outdid yourselves with fun games, awesome treats, and (of course) plenty of candy!
And to our city departments and teams who made it all possible — the Street & Parks Department, Public Power & Electric, Public Library, Police and Fire Departments, and everyone who pitched in behind the scenes — THANK YOU.
This was a night to remember, and it’s all thanks to YOU, Blackwell. Here’s to making the Boo Bash a new hometown tradition!”
With such a strong first showing, the Blackwell Chamber is already looking toward the future.
“Thank you to the committee that put a lot of work and effort to create a member-benefiting event for Blackwell,” Black added. “And lastly, thank you to the community for supporting a first-time event. We can’t wait to see what next year brings.”

If the first Boo Bash was any indication, this Halloween celebration is here to stay — a new Blackwell tradition born under a full moon and fueled by community spirit.
