BES Hosting Thanksgiving Food Drive

November 07, 2025

With the Thanksgiving season just around the corner, Blackwell Elementary School is stepping up to make sure no one in the community goes hungry this holiday season.
The school has launched its **Fall Food Drive**, running from **November 3 through November 12**, with a focus on helping families who may be struggling, especially as Oklahoma faces extra challenges this year with SNAP benefits currently on hold.
Organizers say the goal is simple — to come together as a school community and lend a helping hand to those in need.
The drive is currently collecting nonperishable items including **ramen noodles, peanut butter, jelly, oatmeal, and mac & cheese cups**. Donations can be dropped off directly at **Blackwell Elementary School** throughout the collection period.
“Let’s fill our shelves and our hearts,” the flyer reads. “Together we can make a difference for Blackwell families in need.”
Community members are encouraged to join in the effort and help make this Thanksgiving a little brighter for local families.
