Mary Kathryn Boyd Looper Combs, 64, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at

her home on January 25, 2026. She was born in Houston, Texas, to Walter Emmett Boyd and

Rosemary Boyd and grew up in Kansas and Oklahoma.

Mary was known for her gentle spirit and compassion for others. In her younger years, she

worked with older adults, a reflection of her patience and care. Above all else, she loved her

grandchildren, who were the greatest joy of her life. She also had a special affection for

animals, especially small animals.

Survived by:

Her husband, Richard Eugene “Rick” Combs; her daughters, Cynthia Diane Looper Putnam

and her husband Cash, and Kathryn Leann Looper; her sister, Rose Ann Kliewer and her

husband Ron; thirteen beloved grandchildren; lifelong friends Rozelle and John North, and

Debbie Horton; sisters-in-law Betty Jones and her husband Donnie, and Loretta Rutherford;

brothers-in-law Mike Combs, James Combs, and Cody Combs; and step-children Kaylyn

Reed and Tommy Combs.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Rosemary Boyd; her son, David Leroy Looper, Jr.; her brother William Gene Boyd and both maternal and paternal grandparents. 

A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
