Free Tax Preparation Offered at Blackwell Public Library
February 12, 2026
Blackwell residents can receive help with filing their taxes during free tax preparation sessions offered at the Blackwell Public Library this winter and spring.
IRS-certified volunteers will be available by appointment only on three Saturdays: Feb. 14, March 14 and April 11. Sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the library, located at 123 W Padon St.
The service is designed to assist individuals and families with a variety of common tax needs at no cost. Volunteers can help with returns that include W-2 forms, interest and dividend income, retirement income, unemployment benefits, education credits, child tax credits and other standard filings. Some limitations may apply.
Appointments are required and availability is limited. To schedule a time, residents should call the 405-385-9212.
Participants are asked to bring a photo ID, Social Security or ITIN numbers for everyone listed on the return, all relevant tax documents and last year’s tax return if available.
Library officials encourage residents to schedule early, noting that the free service can help make tax season easier and more accessible for the community.
A healthy Kay County requires great community news.
