Mary Patricia Sellers

Mary Bury (born Mary Patricia Sellers) died peacefully on January 23, 2026, at the age of 91, at her home in Green Valley, Arizona. 

Born July 8, 1934, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, she married Charles Everett Nicholson, also a Blackwell High School graduate, in 1954. She attended Oklahoma State University (previously Oklahoma A & M College) in Stillwater, and later, Bellevue College in Nebraska.

She reared three children as the wife of a United States Air Force officer and pursued a productive career in real estate in Nebraska.  It was during those years in real estate that she married Philip J. Bury, Jr., an Air Force retiree and joined her family with his children Philip, Mary, Megan and Steven.

She is survived by her three children: Mark Everett Nicholson (Laura) , Jewell Beth Hunt, and Charles Forest Nicholson (Katie), along with their families in Iowa, Ohio, California and Oklahoma.

She was predeceased by her parents Lela Jewell Hutchison (Wood) and Charley Sellers, and her stepfather George J. Hutchison, as well as her brothers Jackie L. Sellers and Keith Leon. She leaves behind her sister-in-law Joanne Sellers of Oklahoma, a niece and nephews in Oklahoma and South Carolina, and their families.

After a small, private service, she is to be interred at Rosecrans National Veterans Cemetery in San Diego, California, with her late husband.
