Flycatchers Seeking Host Families for Upcoming Season; Meeting to be held April 15

April 10, 2026

As the Blackwell Flycatchers prepare to return for their fourth season, team officials are asking the community to step up once again by providing host homes for players.
Cindy Hobaugh said the organization is currently in need of local families willing to house players during the 2026 season, which runs from May 26 through July 26.
Host families are asked to provide basic accommodations, including a place to sleep — with air mattresses available if needed — as well as access to a washer and dryer, kitchen and bathroom facilities. Players will be away for roughly half of the season due to road games, and on home game days, they typically leave in the afternoon and return around midnight after postgame activities.
Hobaugh emphasized that players are held to team standards and are expected to respect the rules of their host households. She noted that past arrangements have included a wide variety of living situations, from full families to individuals, and have consistently been positive experiences.
“These young men are working toward their goals of advancing in baseball, and they simply need a place to stay while they do so,” Hobaugh said.
A public meeting for those interested in becoming host families or learning more is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at the Top of Oklahoma Museum. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and speak with previous host families about their experiences.
Those unable to attend the meeting but interested in participating can contact Hobaugh directly at 580-363-9753 for more information.
