Faculty, administrators and staff gathered to recognize years of service, outstanding teaching achievements and the commitment shown by employees across the district.
Among the top honors presented was District Teacher of the Year, awarded to Bart Cox for his leadership and impact on students throughout Blackwell Public Schools.
Additional Teacher of the Year honorees included:
Teresa Zink, Instructional Teacher of the Year
Tami Estep, Elementary Teacher of the Year
Ashlynn Schuermann, Middle School Teacher of the Year
Teresa Stanley was recognized as Support Staff Member of the Year for her contributions and service to the district.
The district also honored several longtime employees for milestone years of service:
Lexy Jobe and Jamie Buxton, 20 years

Sherri Swafford, 30 years
School officials praised the staff for their dedication, compassion and commitment to students throughout the school year.
“It’s a great day to be in Maroon,” the district shared in a social media post following the celebration.
The annual luncheon serves as an opportunity for Blackwell Public Schools to recognize the educators and staff members who help make the district successful year after year.
A healthy Kay County requires great community news.
