Community Fish Fry to Support Tonkawa Athlete's National Basketball Trip
June 26, 2026
Community members will have an opportunity later this month to enjoy a meal while helping a local athlete pursue a national basketball opportunity.
A fundraising fish fry, titled "Catfish for the Court," is scheduled for Sunday, June 28, at 4:30 p.m. at Ray See Park in Tonkawa.
Organizers say all proceeds from the event will help support Tonkawa’s Tripp as he prepares to compete at the AAU World Basketball Championship at ESPN's Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Florida.

The meal will be offered by donation, with organizers suggesting a plate value of $15.
Tripp will be playing for Team Lazenby during the national tournament. He is also being coached by former Oklahoma Union standout Ty Lazenby.
In addition to attending the fish fry, supporters may also contribute through Venmo at @TRIPPCOAST2COAST.
Organizers say the event is intended to help offset travel and competition expenses associated with the championship tournament while giving friends, family and community members an opportunity to show their support.
Those seeking additional information may contact Randi at 580-491-0251.
The fundraiser will be held at Ray See Park, 507 S. Main St., Tonkawa.
Community members are encouraged to attend, enjoy a meal and help send a local athlete to compete on the national stage.
A healthy Kay County requires great community news.
