Blackwell Business Expo to connect employers, job seekers Aug. 25

August 19, 2026

Area residents looking for employment opportunities will have a chance to meet directly with local businesses and industries when a new event comes to Blackwell later this month.
The Blackwell Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Blackwell Economic Development Authority and Blackwell Industrial Authority, will host the inaugural Business Expo 2026 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the Blackwell Event Center, 800 S. Main St.
The new event is designed to bring area employers, businesses and residents together under one roof, giving participating companies an opportunity to showcase their products and services while also promoting current career opportunities.
For job seekers, the expo will provide an opportunity to learn about a wide range of positions currently available with participating employers.
Among the openings listed ahead of the event are IT and plant technician positions; maintenance, security, cashier, housekeeping, bartender, cook and slot ambassador jobs; carpenters and project coordinators; service technicians; sales and service department positions; machine operators; production and general labor jobs; technical operations positions; shipping operators; and maintenance technician positions.
Employment education and referral resources are also expected to be represented.
The variety of openings reflects several sectors of the Blackwell-area economy, ranging from manufacturing and skilled trades to hospitality, technical services and general labor.
The expo is not limited to those actively searching for a new job. Organizers said the event will also give residents an opportunity to learn more about businesses and industries operating in the area and build connections with employers and other members of the community.
For participating companies, the Chamber said the expo offers a chance to meet potential customers and employees face-to-face, increase awareness of their businesses, generate leads and strengthen relationships throughout the area.
The event also fits into ongoing efforts by the Chamber and Blackwell's economic development organizations to support existing businesses and encourage employment and economic growth. The Blackwell Industrial Authority's stated purpose is to promote industrial development and strengthen the economy of Blackwell and the surrounding area.
The Chamber has likewise placed an increased emphasis on networking and partnerships with the Blackwell Economic Development and Industrial authorities as part of its efforts to support businesses and create opportunities in the community.
The Chamber's website lists Business Expo 2026 among its upcoming events for Aug. 25.
