Blackwell Head Start seeking shoe donations for children in need
November 04, 2026
Blackwell Head Start and Early Head Start are asking the community for donations of gently used children's shoes to help local families in need.
The organization recently announced that several children attending its programs are in need of shoes and is encouraging residents to donate footwear that is still in good, wearable condition.
Donations of boys' and girls' shoes in any size are welcome, as the center serves children up to 5 years of age.
Community members interested in donating can bring shoes directly to the Blackwell Head Start center, located at 624 W. Lincoln Ave. in Blackwell.
For those unable to deliver donations in person, Head Start staff have also offered to arrange pickup.
The organization expressed its appreciation for the community's generosity and willingness to help ensure that local children have access to essential clothing and footwear.
For more information about donating, residents can visit the Blackwell Head Start and Early Head Start center at 624 W. Lincoln Ave. or contact the organization by email at blackwellhs@ucapinc.org.
A healthy Kay County requires great community news.
