Lloyd "Pete" Ray Peterson

Lloyd “Pete Ray Peterson of Blackwell, OK died March 10, 2019 in the Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 67.

Lloyd was born on June 30, 1951 in Blackwell to Shiney Bill and Thelma (Jamieson) Peterson. He grew up attending Blackwell Public Schools and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1969. Shortly after graduating, he began his career working in the oilfield. He spent the next 48 years working for numerous oilfield companies. His last and longest employer being May Drilling out of Perry, Oklahoma. After working hard for almost his entire life, he decided it was time to retire in 2016.

Lloyd married the love of his life, Donna Lou Sodowsky on December 22, 1984 and they settled in Blackwell. He is survived by his wife Donna of the home, four daughters; Amanda and husband Jason Bales of Morrison, Heather and husband Daniel Davis of Blackwell, Courtney and husband Nicholos Carson of Blackwell, Ashley Peterson of Blackwell, a son Colby Peterson of Blackwell and two step-children, Brandon Sodowsky of Blackwell and Bridget (Pameticky) Denoys of Choctaw Oklahoma. Two sisters, Connie and husband Gene Grace, and Bonnie and husband Robert Kelly both of Blackwell. One brother, Chuck and his wife Althea Peterson of Blackwell and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Lloyd leaves behind seven grandchildren, Daelin Davis, Easton Bales, James, Hailey and Hannah Carson, Audriana and Lakota Peterson; and four step grandchildren, Trey Sodowsky, Branson Berry, Jacob and Beau Murphy; two step great-granddaughters, River Sodowsky and Carter Berry. He was preceded in death by his son Timothy Ray Peterson and his parents.
